1. General Terms and Purpose of the Initiative

DatReal is a freely available public resource that collects and presents information from public and open data sources (such as state registries and other official resources) in a user-friendly format. Our goal is to promote transparency, data availability and public engagement in Latvia.

The site is maintained as an initiative – so that everyone in Latvia can easily access information that is already publicly available, without additional costs, registration or access restrictions.

We reserve the right to change or discontinue the service at any time without prior notice if necessary for technical, legal or other reasons.

2. Free Data Use, Copying and Scraping

We believe that public data should be used for the benefit of society. Therefore, to the extent permitted by applicable laws and the terms of the original data sources, you may:

• freely view and browse information available on the site;
• copy and download individual records or larger data volumes;
• automatically read data (e.g., using scraping/scraping, bots or scripts), respecting reasonable technical load;
• use data for analysis, research, journalism, public information, and other projects that help better serve the interests of Latvian society;
• create derivative works (statistics, visualizations, tools, etc.), including for commercial purposes.

At the same time, we cannot grant broader rights than allowed by the original data sources. It is your responsibility to ensure that your specific use of data complies with the terms of the relevant public registries or other sources. For our part, we do not impose additional restrictions on data use that would exceed the requirements of these sources.

3. Data Accuracy and Availability

Information on the site is updated regularly, but we do not guarantee that all data is completely accurate, current or error-free at the time you view it. Data is obtained from public registries and other sources "as is".

Users are advised to verify information in primary sources before making significant decisions based on information found here.

4. Limitation of Liability

We do not assume responsibility for any direct, indirect or accidental losses that arise from using this site or relying on the information provided on it.

We are not responsible for the content of other sites to which there may be links in our resource.

5. Intellectual Property and Openness

The technical solution of the site (code, design) may be protected by copyright, but we are building this project as an open public initiative. Data sets and their structured presentation largely rely on public information, and we do not claim exclusive rights regarding the data and their structure visible here, to the extent permitted by applicable laws and the terms of the original sources.

If you use information available here in your projects, we would be happy if you mention DatReal as one of the sources, but this is not mandatory if laws or the licenses of specific data sources do not require it.

7. Applicable Laws

These terms are drawn up in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Any disputes related to these terms are resolved in the courts of the Republic of Latvia.
